Amalgamated Bank, founded in 1923 by the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, is a commercial bank chartered in New York with nationwide service.
As a result of a merger in 1995 between the Amalgamated Clothing & Textile Workers and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union to form the Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees (UNITE!) and a merger in 2004 between UNITE and the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union (HERE), the Bank is owned by UNITE HERE.
