The Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1954 as the International Paper Ticonderoga Mill’s employee credit union.

Since then, it has amended its charter twice, and now provides services to persons who live, work, worship or attend school in, or businesses or legal entities located in Essex County, Washington County or in the Towns of Hague, Horicon and Chester.

The TFCU continues to grow and offer membership to all who will benefit.


ACCOUNTS

The suite of products offered at TFCU mirrors the types you'd find at a traditional bank. However, there are some significant differences.

In the credit union world, savings are called SHARES, checks are referred to as SHARE DRAFTS, and we offer SHARE CERTIFICATES for longer term savings option. Makes sense, since each member's first deposit - whatever the amount - represents their SHARE in the the credit union.

Credit unions return all earnings to members. Primarily this takes the form of lower loan rates, better earnings on savings, and low or no cost financial services though some earnings are pooled as an investment in building capital.
